I have missed reading this blog! I am still here!

We live across the street and one block over from my son's school. I thank my lucky starts each day that we are able to walk to school. I can't imagine driving.

People idle there for 20, 30 minutes--some longer. It's a big school, and there are lots of kids. Not only is the exhaust disgusting, there are cars double and triple parked (even though the principal has sent home letters requesting that parents not do this!), and crossing the street is literally dangerous.

Wonderful - brought back memories of my my own children walking to the neighborhood elementary school every day. The school was close enough and there were enough older brothers and sisters and no major roads to cross ( for us) that a lot of adults did not need to chaperone. Good article - made me laugh. Thanks!

Napster shirt. Ha.

I walked to school until the fourth grade, but no parents with us then. Got it lots of fights, but there were four of us boys. I agree its good. Just that we live five miles from school (rural).
