Love it! My hubby and I have been enjoying Steven's show since it came on. And although, like you, I have always said I could "never shoot a deer", I have a deep respect for those that kill animals for personal consumption (even crazy Ted Nugent). After watching Steven's show enough, I find my opinions on killing animals changing - as long as the animal is respected and used to feed the family (not just for the thrill of the kill).

I suppose unless you live in the country it could be difficult to expose your kids to the "cycle" as you put it. I grew up on a chicken farm, worked on the chicken farm, and had to learn at an early age how to wring a chicken's neck. (Even paricipated in a slaughter once, hanging decapitated chickens by their feet to let the blood flow out--I was about 12). Now, my son hasn't done that--yet. We don't have chickens right now. But we've never mollycoddled about where any food comes from. That's ridiculous.

I appreciate this observation. One thing that weighs on my mind is all the dogs and cats that get destroyed. Personally, I think we should eat them! I realize they have been pumped with chemicals and vaccines so that may be why. We should be able to eat their meat.

I wonder if people would let themselves starve instead of wring a chicken's neck. I think I could kill a chick if necessary. I think!
