OK--apparently, "soon" is a relative term. :) We've all been sick as dogs around here, but I did my homework and here are some fun ideas for Valentines:

• Stickers
• Handmade cards (which my son actually got two of, and only one had a lollipop attached to it!)
• Ink & stamp sets
• Greeting cards that are crafts, all in one--the recipient (the child) gets to make a mask, or decorate a face with stickers, etc. We've sent these to Alex cousins and they're always a hit.

That depends on where the sunglasses were made. ;-) Never mind, I think I know: in any case, you're forgiven. The handmade-ness offsets the made-in-china-ness. Very creative idea nonetheless. Did you make that up yourself? And darling, of COURSE you're a Red Pill Parent! Duh!

Well, well, well....looks like I'm a red pill parent after all. We handmade my 2 year old's Valentine's and attached an inexpensive pair of sunglasses to each with a ribbon. The Valentine's simply read...
"To my cool friend, _____
Happy Valentine's Day!
Love, Felicity"
OK. The sunglasses were cheap and plastic. Does that still count?

Don't apologize, A darling -- that was our bust. I hope you don't mind my dropping your name in the interest of humor! Go ahead and pat your Red Pill Parent self on the back for setting a great example for your son -- and most importantly, Happy Birthday!

Hahaha! I am so sorry--but I actually don't have any ideas, as we don't really "do" V-day around here. It's actually my birthday, so we focus the celebration on that (lucky me!). Easter is much, much worse for us--my husband's family goes nuts!

I'm not patting my Red Pill Parent self on the back here, but we have really ingrained in Alex that candy and chocolate are foods that are not good for you, and are eaten in small quantities on special occassions. So he's not that impressed by candy and chocolate. We'll let him have a piece or two, and then he's done.

Now that I've written, I do feel the wheels turning, thinking of other suggestions. I promise I will post before the big day. :)
