We handmade my 2 year old's Valentine's and attached an inexpensive pair of sunglasses to each with a ribbon. The Valentine's simply read... "To my cool friend, _____ Happy Valentine's Day! I am so sorry--but I actually don't have any ideas, as we don't really "do" V-day around here. It's actually my birthday, so we focus the celebration on that (lucky me!). Easter is much, much worse for us--my husband's family goes nuts! I'm not patting my Red Pill Parent self on the back here, but we have really ingrained in Alex that candy and chocolate are foods that are not good for you, and are eaten in small quantities on special occassions. So he's not that impressed by candy and chocolate. We'll let him have a piece or two, and then he's done. Now that I've written, I do feel the wheels turning, thinking of other suggestions.
